    Responsibilities of a Mentor

As a mentor with the Norwalk Mentor Program, your role is both rewarding and essential. You will be a guiding light, providing support and encouragement to your mentee. Your responsibilities include being open-minded, a good listener, and a positive role model. Your commitment will contribute to the overall success of the mentoring relationship. You can engage with your mentee in the school usually in the library or a classroom. We provide you with guidelines on what type of activities to do and what to talk about.

    The Importance of Mentoring

Mentoring is not just a program; it’s a transformative experience that has a lasting impact on both mentors and mentees. Studies consistently show that children engaged in mentoring programs achieve higher levels of academic success, foster better peer and family relationships, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors.
